Duratec R500 suitable injectors
Hi everyone, the engine I’ve built for my MGB GT is basically an R500. Looking at around 250 to 260 bhp. I’ve seen these Bosch injectors for Astra vxr
0280156280. I know green giants work but there seem to be a lot of fakes about and the Vauxhall’s ones are easily obtained at a good price. They are
470cc/m. Would they suit or are they too big and will give poor idle?

Being a modern style of injector of that size, they will idle perfectly well and they are more than adequate size wise. I have a used similar spec
bosch and even larger denso injectors without issue.

Cheap oem,
pico sized injectors, Megane 225 around 440cc.
Full size Bosch, Focus Rs mk1 around the same cc. Both can be had for just over £100 for a new set of four.

Cheapest I found for 440cc used were subaru “baby blue” injectors. Under £50 a set.

I've been running these injectors in my zetec turbo for about 6 years. I seem to remember I got a complete brand new fuel rail with 4 injectors
and FPR for £100 back then from Vauxhall dealers. Fantastic value.
Idle has been fine for me. I'm running about 250 bhp on the zetec turbo.

I used Giant Whites for a while in mine, now I have 2 injectors per port which are standard Mondeo.
Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016
