Pinto year help
Can anyone help me identify the year of my pinto please? The engine number code is GV, ive looked on Burton powers guide but can't find it on
there

HI ya, GU and GY are both in 1986, so maybe your number is similar to this but a miss stamped engine number maybe the issue.
I used the Burtons print out to prove my xflow to IVA and they took it as gospel.

Worth a call to Burton Power for some advice I'd suggest.
Myself and others on here wrote to Ford (don't have the address I'mm afraid) and got a quick reply with engine age verification. Examiner
took that quite happily during my SVA (pre IVA) test (Pinto engined MK Indy).

Does the year really matter? They went out of production in 1994, so are all pre-cat era and the first letter being G is 1986 (are you sure that
it's not GU?)

If you do end up writing to Ford the address I used was Ford Technical Information Centre, PO Box 300, Walsall WS5 4QH. Letter gives a phone number
(0906 5533447) but it's premium rate
