1.6 crossflow 681 v 711 whats the actuall difference please i have also seen for sale 1.3 with 711 block is this correct? regards martin
p/s for those who run a 1.3 xfloe would be gratefull to hear your comments on driveability etc as a fellow locoster from this site has offered me a
good one due to his upgrade

Rough summary (I haven't got my book handy)...
The 711 block is more rigid, and supports the crankshaft much better. Because of these changes it can survive more tuning.

yeah, from memory its a thicker block with better main bearing caps (stronger) and a couple of other bits stronger. I was under the impression though
that the 711 is only really better if yuo intend boring it out, or are running big power.
