Blocking xe ex. cam
Any of you knowledgeable chaps know the size of the ball bearing thats used to block the oilway in the exhaust cam on an XE??
I know SBD use them just need a size so i can go local supplier.

Hi it doesnt need replacing it blocks the oilway as ive removed the dizzy.

let me know as I've got a distributorless kit with my throttle bodies, didn't realise this ballbearing was required, I have the blanking
plate for where the dizzy was as it were..
Ned.

I used a cut down dizzy as a blanking plate, with a little ally plug turned up and pressed/loctited into the hole in the middle. I then just cut the
dizzy shaft down sufficiently to fit inside this and left it blocking the end of the cam as it did originally. Looks quite neat but not as neat as
cutting down the exhaust cam , blocking it and machining down the rear exhaust cam bearing housing, to get the engine all symmetrical, but then
that's a lot of work just to make it look a bit nicer!!

Yeah thought about cutting the cam down,machining head etc but just not worth the hassle for me-i,d rather hammer in a ball bearing lol. Got the alloy
blanking plate just need to find a bearing.Typical when you need a little thing like that and cant find one bah.

FWIW QED supply the ball bearing with their dizzy block off plate
shimming solid lifters is a job for a friend...

I have still got the dizzy in mine - I just ripped the guts out, lopped off the rotor arm stub with a hacksaw, and used the three dizzy cap threads to
hold a coil bracket. Proper locost...
Dont just build it.....make it!
