FWD CVH Engine to ford RWD box.
Hi, wondered if anyone could answer a question.
Can a 1.6CVH from a fwd escort be mated to a mk2 escort 4 speed box?
I have a Jago Geep & am fed up with the xflow - too unreliable.
A 1.6 CVH has become available and I wondered whether anyone had mated one to a rwd box?
I can see the sump being a problem on the engine also as the deep section is at the front - needs to be the other way around with my mk2 escort
crossmember being in the way.
Anyone any ideas before someone else snaps up the engine???

Yeah the bolt pattern will allow you to mate it up to a type 9 etc. They fitted 1.8 cvh's in sierra's so that is a good reference point
for bits (sump/clutch parts etc)
remember you'll have to use the alternator mount to bolt on an engine mount though.
HTH

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Some of the info you need is here, it should be possible to use a CVH 1300 or 1400 flywheel to take the existing 7.5" clutch otherwise you might
end up having to change the gearbox and propshaft.
