Ford Production Query
Can anyone confirm this for me...
Am I correct in thinking that all fords used zetec engines after a certain year? if so does anyone know what year?
If not does anyone know what models did use the zetec engines?
Who the f**K tightened this up!

The early Zetec engine was mainly used in Escort/Orion and Mondeo in 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre forms, plus the odd Fiesta. The later Upgrade Zetec with
the 2-piece sump configuration was used in Focus and Mondeo.

They are not all the same engine though.
The 1.8 and 2.0l are Zetec E and the 1.6 and smaller are Zetec S and parts are not interchangeable.
Have a look on Burton's website
http://www.burtonpower.com/system/index.html
where it has a bit of detail on models etc
The 1.8l with 2.0l cams will produce about 150bhp with a half decent exhaust and carbs or tbs
You will need an aftermarket ecu though.

not to mention the hcs engine in the baby fiesta and ka
so not all ford models used the zetec
as also said previously the zetec has 3
versions
the 1.25 etc (yamaha developed)
the early 1.6,1.8,2.0 with hydralic followers
the later 1.6,1.8,2.0 with solid lifters
