Impreza as donor 4 engine ?!?
As my 2nd chassis is almost done it is time to find some engine to fit in.
Rear dif, axes and brakes are from sierra, gear box is Toyota t50. Originally I was planning to build a "real" car with 4GZE engine. But
last night I have a dream to fit impreza turbo engine on T50 gear box. (low COG, 220 HP, I have one...)
Have anybody tried this before?
Real question is have anybody made Lowcost with boxer engine?
COG of impreza's engine is almost 15 cm lower than 4GZE although the engine is 19 kg heavier.

You know your making enough power when your clutch operates in binary.

have you measured the width of the impreza engine, I think this will be your first problem!

It fits perfectly as width of chassis on widest place is 122 cm and nosecone is "stretched" 18cm. There is about 3cm on each side free.

then
the only problem will be the exhaust tuning...
its like my V4 engine..
joining the exhaust for an balance tube is the problem (can be the problem)
but it isn't realy nececary i hope to have one..

I just have to make exhaust on both sides.

Not really an option with a turbo engine though.
