Anyone know a source (preferably US) of steel or AL remote fuel filler necks and caps other than from JAZ?

have you checked out your local Bike wreckers ? I've just bought a GPZ1100 cap and Key of ebay for 27 AUD it is what a few guys here in oz are usung.

Actually, I have a box full of various new and secondhand flush fit/aircraft style fillers and caps, but I'm after details and prices of remote filler necks for a current project in the US. They don't even have to be the aircraft type.
