Zetec black top cylinder head on silver top bottom

I was wondering if it is possible to put the newer cylinder head off the black top zetec onto the older zetec engine? If yes then are there any gains to be had from doing this?

Cheers

Best check would be if the head gaskets are the same.

Key advantage would be the solid lifters rather than the hydraulic ones on the silvertop.

Blacktop bottom end is supposed to be stronger than the silvertop, with more meat around the bores - plus teflon-lined pistons.

IIRC i was told the best gasket to use on a 1.8 silver top was that of a focus 1.8 thus being a black top. So i would imagine the heads are similar. The valve lifters are different as above.. Not sure of power gains think it would be the same.
