CHV -> Zetec
Ok need an answer to this if I get a zetec what will I have to change on the engine to get it to fit my type 9.
Clutch? FlyWheel?
Currently I have a 1.6 CHV installed and am thinking about Zetec
Scot's do it better in Kilts.

Hi,
If you are using a standard CVH flywheel at the moment, then the standard 1.6/1.8 fiesta /Escort zetec flywheel should be ok.

Normal things to make it mount are:
flywheel (only if fitting a 2.0)
clutch
spigot bearing
You'll also need to trim down the middle of your current engine - gearbox spacer plate
Don't forget to lower the zetec sump, too
Use your CVH starter.

The later zetec has a cast sump which has to be trimmed to allow the starter to fit the type 9. The earlier zetec does not need this to be done as
there is enough room for the starter to miss the sump.

Depending on your installation, if you use the std zetec sump you may have clearance issues with road bumps...the answer to this is shorten the sump

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
