Dellorto carbs - Back firing

Having trouble getting my twin 40's set Currently its firing out of the carbs (cyc1) and flames out the exhaust and balck smoke (rich).

If I screw down the micture engine rev's don't change just can't get the engine to run lean enough

Engine 1.6CVH (xr2)
Ingintion - Ford Xr2
Carbs twin 40 dellortos ( venturi unknow jet unkwnow)

Scot's do it better in Kilts.

MK INDY's Don't Self Centre Regardless of MK Setting !

If you remove the jets and venturis then you should be able to see the markings.

Also check fuel pressure and floats

i had a similar backfiring problem(out of carbs+exhaust), turned out to be a dodgy rotor arm, maybe worth checking

I had this problem out from my Delortto's, sounds like the mixture drillings are blocked.

Remove both the mixture screw and the idle jet and holder, take a piece of silicon hose and blow down the mixture screw hole to see if you can get any crud back into the float chamber.(rough i know but worked for me, don't forget to clean out the float chamber afterwards or you'll just suck the crud back into the jets).

That should sort out the rough running, as for the spitting back sound like a ignition timing problem.
