Propshaft specialists
Hi,
I need to find someone who can change the end of my propshaft to mate with my Type 9 box instead of a Type 3. Does anyone of a good specialist,
prefereably in the North East of Scotland.
I have all the bits, I just need the right end attached to the shaft.
Cheers,
Ed

A quick search of the archives will help.
It's been asked and answered many times!
Cheers,

I searched the archives, and found a couple of recommendations for Autoprop UK, but as they are based in London and I am in Aberdeen, I wanted to see
if there were any local companies who people had experience of.

Apparently thier is somone in blackburn that does it, although not quite as local as you were looking for its closer than london.
dont know which thread but a search for blackburn would probably find it.
Also goto WHSmiths and get a copy of What KitCar they usually have a few ads for such things.

Cool, I am going to call around some local engineering companies to see who has the capability and get quotes. It is just a bit of tight welding
really, but it would be good to know someone who has done it before.
Cheers guys,
Ed

find a local truck workshop, and ask them where they get propshafts rebuilt, that's the easiest way to do it. If there are any quarries nearby,
they get through props at a fair rate so there will be somebody local who will be able to do smaller stuff as well!

I know of a place in Glasgow that can do this (they built the bespoke prop for the LMP). I'll pass on their address once I dig it out.
Being in the Aberdeen area, there must be a number of engineering companies that could do this work for you, though. I would have thought some of the
companies supplying the oil industry would have this capability.
Best Regards,
Steve.

I assume the "London" Autoprop UK is the same one I used - actually in Sussex? . They are near to me so I saved the postage/courier, but
I would imagine that the price for carriage would be the same more or less wherever you are in the UK? Worth asking for a quote including P&P so
you can compare!
