Oil cooler donor?

Can anybody recommend a car/s that contains a useful engine oil cooler? Also approx sizes, if know, would be great.

I tried a search, but not much luck.

Cheers

Because I'm in South Africa.........

Seriously, how much is cheap?

I have tried to buy stuff on ebay from SA, but it's a pain because paypal does not work from SA, and we have to pay import duty

Hi Fred,

Don't the air-cooled Porsche 911's run a substantial oil cooler?

Try this link:

Hay Steve - Thanks for the link, but I was hoping for something a little more mainstream.

Thanks ned, I drive what is called an Opel 200iS out here, but is actually an astra gte, so will have a look tonight. Doh

Thanks for quick responses, will you guys let me get back to work now?

Cheers

Peugeot 205/309 1.9GTi has an oil cooler as well. I think the VW VR6 models have one too.

Honda Twin Cam in the Rover 216 has a water cooled oil cooler mounted beneath the oil filter.

Probably of no use but thought I'd mention it.

Okay, haven't been to a car scrapyard yet, but went past a bike breakers on the way home, hoping to find a cooler from an oilcooled Suzuki. That they didn't have, but they did have these. At R100 (say 8 pounds) for both, it seemed rude not to take them.

A lot of large automatic cars have oil coolers on the gearboxes, espeically if designed / used for towing so that may be worth looking into.
