clutch cable
Hi all,
What's the best way to fit a clutch cable to an Indy?
Ive got one end in the clutch and chopped the othr so it's short enough and doesn't leave me with loads of excess cable.
The problem I have is how to connect it to the pedal. I want it to be both secure and easily adjustable in the future.
What can I use?
I though that something like you get in a plug i.e. a cube of metal with a wire shaped hole through it with a screww going through the top to secure
the cable in place.
Being made of brass these would be too soft.
How have other people done it?

i got a clevis from mk. it has 2 grub screws to grip the cable, and bolts to the pedal.
while you're at it, save yourself the trouble and get a push rod and clevis for the brake pedal, and a cable end for the throttle pedal.

Monkeyman...
I had the same dilema and pratted about for ages trying to mak it work with an electrical joint like you describe. In the end I got a MK3 Capri
clutch cable from Burton Power for ~£12. This has the correct nipple for the gearbox fork, a threaded adjuster which fits into the gearbox hole and
an eyelet at the pedal end.
It works perfectly with no modification and has the benefit of being easily replaced if need be.

We have used a Escort Mexico cable for our's with a X-flow engine, as its also a Ford I guess its similar fitting to the Pinto. The part number
is Veco VJC765 from our local motor factors, £8.50 inc vat. The construction sounds the same as the one nick205 has used.

Think mine was a Mark2 Escort. possibly shorter than the Crapi

After snapping two mk2 escort clutch cables because they were too short, I read something James put about using the 3l capri cable, slightly longer
than the mk2 escort. I fitted that and never had a problem since
