pressure reg

After ripping the 1600 xflow out I'm in the process of putting in a zetec with Jenvey throttle bodies, I ordered the pressure reg from raceline. I understand the 8mm are flow from the fuel rail and return to the tank, but what is the little pipe on the top?

Vac tube to inlet manifold normally to regulate fuef pressure at different throttle positions.

You will need to bridge all the inlet stubs to connect this, taking vacumn from only one will make the fuel reg pulse....

This is NOT a difinitive answer but my guess is that you will need to connect this.
If you don't you will get high fuel pressure at small throttle openings which could cause you problems.
If you bought it from Raceline why not give them a ring and ask their advice. Very knowledgable people down there.

Mark,

It's normally connected to the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) tapping to try to keep the pressure across the injector and hence the flow rate constant. There are some units on the market that use this to improve performance on standard vehicles by changing the response to a change in MAP.

Whether you need it depends on the ECU and fuel table that you are using, so as stated you are better asking the supplier - Jenvey?

FYI - I'm running a Megasquirt on individual throttle bodies and have changed from the standard speed density algorithm to a hybrid Alpha-n which has vastly improved the fueling control at higher MAP. If your going the Megasquirt route (as your a locoster) then I suggest that you implement a similar method.

Cheers,

Colin

I may have built the car from scratch but electrics aren't my strong point so I'm going for an emerald ecu.

Thanks for the advise I'll ring raceline and let you know, I find getting through to them not always easy so I thought I would ask here first.

Cheers Mark
