In need of a cat.
No, I havn't been over run by mice.
A mate, or rather my guvnor's mate, is building a kit using a Honda engine and is in need of a cat.
Never fitted one myself so I have no idea what people use or where to buy one from.
Any ideas chaps?
Cheers

A lot (particularly with a mate like you to make a can to put it in!!) of folks just get a cat from the scrappy (from a very late car so
it's likely to be good) then just cut it out of its can and weld it into a new one on the (front) end of the "sevenesque silencer".

I can't imagine this bloke in a scrappy.
It's a Dax, ST 2000 engine & g/box, so "loads a money".
This all started when the g/box appeared on my bench at work. Cut a segment out
of the bell housing and weld a bit in. Do it in works time I was told.
Now my guvnor turns the gas off to flip his eggs, so this bloke must be a realy good
mate, or maybe it's a case of blackmail.
So, I think he's after a nice ready made stainless jobbie, looks more important than
price, if you get my drift.

Having seen the pics of your welding on various cans, i can't imagine he'll be faulting your work...........................!!
But I see what you mean!
Best to speak to Caterh*m then and get a catted system from them!

Try these
http://www.blackthorn.eu.com/index.htm or get a new one from a car parts shop and make a new box for it.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I can't imagine that c/van would sell one that fits.
I think I've probably got to do the pipe work.... but I do have an ulterior motive.
I'm in need of some ally sheet for my bodywork. Know what I mean?

Thanks Pete.
I've printed it off and will show it to him tomorrow.

Caterham do a nice little cat unit that goes in front of the main silencer on their CSR model.
Works on a 260 hp duratec engine so shouldn't struggle too much with the 240 hp honda!!!!!!!
If money isn't a problem then why reinvent the wheel?
look in front of the silencer on this pic (yes I know it's not a CSR but that is similar!)

Mr 907 - did you get anywhere with this?
After a small round can myself.
Best I've found are these on ebay for £150.

Or are you gonna come up with a nice simple looking one with 2" inlet and outlet that you might as well make 2 of
