To pass an MOT you need wipers and washers, the demister doesn't come in to the MOT. but I've found them useful the last few weeks

It requires the demister and wipers to pass SVA/MOT. Most people take it off till after sva and put it back on after.
We can supply screens in 14 days if needed at short notice. see http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=24121

Sit up straight on your coat or lean out of the side closer to the warm exhaust! (like you reverse a lambo)

Or you could always get the passenger to shout directions!

(Or be like us whimps don't go out if it looks like rain!)

I think you'll find that although a demister is a legal requirement it doesn't come into the MOT test, same as speedo ?

Demister is *only* required for SVA...

However, it is kinda handy if you want to see through the windscreen in cold / damp weather...

I wanna do the same. 100 mph with no screen hurts and is bloody cold, and still not convinced by a deflector.

Anyone got a velocity screen they want shot of?

Have you tried a fly screen?
I think you'd be pleasently suprised at how effective they are, they really do make a big difference and any speed is comfortable with a good pair of sunglasses on.

(115 on a private road officer with no glasses on, was a tad uncomfortable at that though)

And a full screen often creates the problem of buffeting from the sides,as the air whips around the screen, leading to grandad style sidecreens being required
