Air filter help
My piperx foam airfilter is getting past it's best and I'm fairly sure it needs replacing in the near future. Are these cleanable before I
bin it?
I am tempted to replace the sausage filter with 4 smaller K&N's, one on each carb, as I prefer K&Ns and trust them more to keep the
rubbish out of my engine. Any one know what type I'd need or how much they might be? Or is it best to just wash my current one?
Cheers in advance, Si

Wash out your current one in petrol mate. Let it dry and give it a squirt with the dirt retention oil.
Much more locost than buying new ones.

Try this Locost solution.
All you need is some fish pond filter material and a few cable ties.
It did me for my first drive today!!

Power was the last thing I was worried about for the first drive round the block.
I just wanted to make sure nothing got sucked in.
Now I can plan a proper airbox.

Fair comment dude, but I thought I would mention it in case others thought it was actually a good idea!

To go across 4 carbs or a pair of webers etc the best thing that K&N do for you is a big airbox, like the one in this piccy:
grasser rear
it is certainly NOT locost, at £100, but it is a buy it once item that can be used on many projects, just needs a new backplate each time.

I've thought about getting onew of those, but I really like the look of the 4 little seperate ones! Also, I may have to fit a bonnet vent at
some point, so need to keep it all small if poss.
