4age front coolant housing
hi there, im currently trying to fit some jenvey throttle bodies to my 4age from an mk1 mr2, but the front coolant housing hits the inlet manifold and
stops it lining up by about 2mm, does anyone know if the coolant housing was diffent on the corollas with the same engine.
front coolant housing
housing / manifold
cheers for the help, and if anyone knows of a part number that i would need that would be great, thanks

Yes there's diference. the mr2 and FWD corrolla outlets are the same, the (AE86 corrola coupe) RDW 4age, is different but also is it's
waterpump and housing.
You can't use a RDW outlet and FWD seperate thermo housing, because then there's no thermostat bypass line, so it would never open.
that's because the rdw has the thermostat in the waterpump housing,
You could use a AE86 outlet ( though I'm not sure it fit's but I do think it does!) and get a Bypass line plumbed in the top radiator
hose.
Or you could use a complete AE86 waterpump and housing and outlet, which would make plumbing on hell of a lot easier overall.
If you can't get it done please let me know because wednesday I can take a look at Micha's 4age smallport on jenvey's and see how he
solved this.

cheers for the help,
looks like i might be using a dremmel then, ideally i didnt want to damage the manifold and the TB's but is it only the edge of the flange so
should be ok....
if you could look at Micha's 4age and report some findings that would be excellent...
and finally the alternater pulley is a new ali one from ebay theres more for sale
c
lick
thanks

Mischa has butchered the outlet for the ITB's to fit.

When I had a 16V in my Striker I blocked the left (exits under the TBs) hand pipe completely and braised a pipe on to the temp sender exit hole. I
think my manifold was more in the way.
Just don't ask me where I put the temp sender as it was a couple of years a go!
The other things I did were to cut and re-angle the top hose boss so the hose wasn't the highest part of the cooling system as it was liable to
create an air lock. I also eventually removed the Toyota thermostat and spliced a Rover V8 remote thermostat in to the top hose and used the bypass on
that.
