2.0l zetec / type 9

hi iam helping a friend do a conversion on a saxo lol we are fitting a 2.0l zetec engine but rwd does anyone no if its a stright fit to a type9 gearbox thanks adam

Yes bolt pattern is the same for the block, just forget the sump to box bolts as they do not line up.

yes it bolts straight on, (but i belive there is 2 types of type 9 one with a short and one long input shaft, cannot remember is the better one)

just do a seach to find out which clutch and thrust bearing you need.

The one from the V6 has the longer input shaft. So go for the non V6 ones. Im sure someone will be able to give you the shaft lengths.

can you use the clucth out of the zetec or would we need the one that we take the type 9 off adam

I've got an 1800 flywheel which is lighter and an 1800 mondeo clutch (early 220mm) mixed with a capri clutch release bearing quinten hazel number cct133

I think the clutch was 1993 to 97

thanks all only iam picking the engine up tomorrow for him and this weekend iam gonna try and fit it hes already cut evrything out to fit so hopefully it will all go in ok
