The taller 1st it should be much better.
Still; with the torque of a turbo you will probably won't use 1st too much. Moving away from second should be easy.
An lsd and starting from second and reaching 100km/h in one gear should give you a very interesting acceleration time!
Enjoy!

Hi the trouble is that all the ford ratios listed above are std.
These are possibly suitable for a N/A car for road use. But if you now have a turbo and a bit more bhp you will find that those ratios are all a bit
low for a car the weight of a kitcar.
The first ussual upgrade is to a set of rocket ratios.
Ratios: 1st:- 2.48 2nd:- 1.69 3rd:- 1.21 4th:- 1:1
These are some where in the ballpark for a kitcar used for spiritted driving or track use.
For more usefull information try looking around the QUAIFE SITE.

with 195/50/15 or 205/60/13 wheels and tyres you'll get
32.7 MPH at 6000 in 1st
57.1 in 2nd
83.1 in 3rd
108.7 in 4th
129.7 in 5th
They seem a bit low to me. 1st will be all wheelspin. 5th a bit revvy. for best 0-60 / 0-62 times, you want to hit 62.2 or more before hitting the
rev limiter in 2nd
205/60/15s would do or perhaps 205/50/15 and a 3.38 diff

lol totally irrelevant but my new "BEC" grasser is geared for 63mph in first and 94mph in second..........for offroad use!!!
Goodness knows what it might try and do in 6th...................... (bog down a lot I think! )
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning
