Help from a bolt size specialist - please :D RS2000 Bellhousing
Hi there,
I decided to lighten the 'load' by getting an ally bellhousing to mate to my Zetec.
I took the old bellhousing off, put the alloy one on and then tried to bolt back together - guess what - yup the M10 bolts dont fit.
Does anybody know what the standard size should be on RS2000 bellhousing to engine - unf/whitwell etc?
I tried Googling - but got no joy.
The other option is trial and error - but working away makes that hard
Cheers,
M

my guess would be they are 3/8 UNC. (9.5 mm dia) ... but that is a guess mind.
vvvvv - gret one bolt to see if it fits befpore shelliong out on many. I am sure I will have one somehwere (used on Rover v8 unless I am mistaken);

Cheers - that would be consistent with the M10 trying to go in a getting a couple of mill before locking.
I'll go grab some :-)
Thanks again!

Hmm, my RS2000 bellhousing had (mostly stripped!) M10 threads, but it's quite possible it had been re-tapped at some stage.
