R1 throttle cable

Where's the best place to source bits from to make up my throttle & clutch cables ? (Indy carb'd R1) Most of the usual suppliers seem a bit thin on the ground when it comes to this stuff.

For throttle cable you can use Bicycle brake cable. I just used a universal one from my local bike shop.

For clutch cable I got one made up by Venhill Engineering in Dorking.

Contact Details:-

Venhill Engineering Ltd
21 Ranmore Rd
Dorking
Surrey
RH4 1HE

Tel:-01306 885111

I actually redesigned the normal setup so that the cable outer moves rather than the inner

by using an adaptor that my local machine shop knocked up for a fiver out of stainless.

The advantage is that my cable is only approx 18" and straight from the pedal rather than the usual big loop.

For clutch I just used a cut down Mk2 Escort cable. Ive done similar to Jim but as I had a bit of lower engine cradle nearby I just put a mount on that and turned the clutch lever around (its on splines) so it pulled towards the drivers footwell.

Picture / thousand words etc, so have a look at Rich Miles's website here, as Rich did it in a similar way.
