allways count the teeth on both the old belt and the new one.espessialy if its a el cheapo motor factors job

A dodge/bodge for replacing cambelts is to cut the belt down the middle with a stanley knife, remove the outer half, put the new one onto the half exposed pulleys (this checks you have the right one at the same time), then cut away the remains of the old one, then slide the new one on the rest of the way. the tension is maintained and the timing unaltered.

Not really necessary on a pinto etc, but for an engine which needs specialised clamps to keep the pulleys lined up, it works!
