Measure yours with a piece of string and take that to a motor factor. They will find you one.
Failing that City Belts and bearings (google) do belts of all sizes and lengths.
Give them a call with the length and V measurements and they will be able to sort it.

I'm pretty sure the Halfords belt codes are related to the length of the belt.

So as said measure with a peice of string the length you require e.g 1400mm and buy accordingly, or look in the yellow pages for Belt/Transmission suppliers (an old belt would be handy if going to the to get the correct section V...
I'd guess that there "Z" section so you'd be after a XPZ1400 if its a toothed belt or SPZ1400 for a solid belt

I was doing this as well this weekend. I had a goodyear belt with the notation 5PK **** where the local motor factor told me that the 5 was the number of vee's/grooves (if you see what i mean) and the **** is the required length. I'm using the xe with the alternator only (original) and I need a 5pk870 which I'm told (but not confirmed) is a belt fitted to the subaru impretza(sp).
Hope this helps. If you get one before me perhaps you'd be good enough to advise what it's from.

no worries, im going to pop in to halfrauds after work tomorrow.

im after one with maybe fewer v's as this will suit the material i have for the pulleys im going to make from ali, i know its only a small fraction of the weight of the car but i couldn't believe how heavy the crank pulley was

One thing you might like to know:
If you have a 6 grove and want to make it a 4, just cut two groves off! The groves help locate the knife.

Did that with my project.

yepl halfords is the place - all out on a rack for you to try.

further more the part number tells you about betlw witdth, type and length

something like 10A127 = width in mm, A = V cross-section 127 length in mm

it used to be like t hat but the new numbering I seem to recall is similar.

I had to get a few belts (and retun unused) when I moved my alterneatro colser to the engine in my LR - the string method was nowhere near as good as fitting on different belts.

done this on a few of the later vx's. (the ones with poly vee pulleys and the sprung tensioner on the pas pump bracket)

We just took the brackets off the alt, leaving just the pivotty one, made up a slotted top mount for tension adjustment, and found a suitably short belt at halfords.

Currently running this setup on the late 8v seh vx engine in my bro's manta
