Calling on the Turbo Gurus

I've looked around a bit on the forum. I have also emailed a few companies that do turbo kits for bikes, but none of them bothered to reply back. So i'm down to asking on the forum now.

After stripping down the www.turbobike.net site I end up with further questions. The plan is to Turbo an 04 or 05 R1 engine. To get things clear right away it will be controlled using a Haltech E6X ecu, driving the 4 coils and batch firing the 4 injectors.

Now i need to clear some point out:

1) can I find larger injectors to fit the R1 Throttle bodies? What make/model are they? What sort of cc/min do the stock injectors flow?

2) i don't like the idea of sandwiching 2 gaskets to lower the compression, i'll be machining and dishing a set of stock pistons. However, are forged pistons neccessary here, even though i will not be running more than 0.8Bar boost and using 105 octane fuel?

3) The big question .... the turbo. This engine seems to flow bucket loads of air. it seems that the TD04HL-15G is very widely used, but it seems like the 16T would also be siutable.

4) what the heck is, and how does a Turboloadre work on those MHI turbos?

5) did i miss anything else that other found useful, had trouble with?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

turbo

If you get in contact with "Jack" at www.holeshotracing.co.uk he will be able to supply all the bits including the thicker gasket to lower CR.

The holeshot kits contain a mitsubishi TD04 HL 16T which is found in the Volvo T5-R.

Not sure on the injectors as Iam going down the blow through route on a "carbed" blackbird.

www.mc-xpress.com is also worth a look.
