possible causes

fitted twin dellorto on manta ohc ,ran ok for approx 70 miles if a little thirsty , suddenly wont rev and boggs down if slight pressure applied to throttle assuming jetting ??? have got car booked on rollers on sat but would like any feedback to make sure not missing obvious ,,,.
have checked things like plugs (new set fitted) and all contacts between leads etc only thing can find is small amount of plastic shroud around contact in dizzy is missing but post is still in tact?

check the needles/jets for blockages

check fueling too i guess.


if you are getting sparks then it's not the dizzy.

but as above might have a blocked jet

accelerator pump problem??

My dellortos unadjusted themselves so the accelerator pump was pumping in less fuel. Gave me trouble starting and if i tried to accelerate hard.

Are dellortos a problem. As you may have seen from my post, my 45's have been fine until Sunday when the car was popping allot more than normal. It was tuned on rolling road in October.

Start engine & with bonnet open, spray some wd40 or brake cleaner(prefered) into or across throttle body intakes whilst attempting to rev engine. If engine picks up then its fueling & not sparks.





Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

fitted new coil plugs rotor arm and dizzy cap ,running again ,just hope gets set up on rollers tommorrow ok

NOT GOOD NEWS
cant tune out problem think may have done valve or piston ???? thing is stutters under load up to 3000 rpm then goes like s++t of a shovel???? best 150 quid spent yet NOT dont know what to do know?? suggestions please ?
