RV8 EFI - cold start injector
Can I get away with removing the cold start injector and just blanking it off? Got a (very slight) clearance issue around the injector connector on
my Viento's bonnet.....
Thanks...

Junk it, no real issues as the other injectors will overfuel, it only squirts for a maximum of 7 seconds, this is controlled by the rear most sensor
around the thermostat housing.
Hot wire does not even have one, flappy box ECU will not even know the difference, no diagnostics on it, its an analouge based system.

apologies just re-read that you are on about the cold sart injector not the air by-pass valve.

Remove it.
Most of the TVR boys do.
It only helps on a REALLY cold winter morning. Other times it just overfuels the engine.
IIRC it works in conjunction with the extra air valve in front of the plenum, and that only stays open for a few seconds.
I disconnected mine and there was no difference!

Thanks for the comments guys.
Yes I am running the standard SD1 ECU.
So is it a case of just disconnecting the injectors and blanking it over? Do I need to do anything with the wiring?
Can I then remove the extra air valve as well?
Thanks

Yea its no problem to go without it, same on the 4 cylinder bosch L jetronic setups, on my old manta (back in 1995) I pulled the cold start one out
and put an extra injector in there on a turbo technics injector driver to supplement the fuelling (modified engine)
