type 9 speedo out put.

i was in the garage today and i noticed an oil leak in the foot well

i have used an electronic speedo and i seem to remember that i took the speedo cable out but do not remember plugging out the hole.

would this leak oil? lots or a small amount?

do i have to remove the engine and gear box to get to it?

what do i have to use to block it up?

strange thing is there is no oil under the car.

Are you sure its not brake fluid?
The cable drive would not normally leak.

The speedo hole shouldn't leak oil even without a cable fitted, are you sure it's not brake fluid?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

possible, but at present the foot pedal is hard as a rock. the only connection in the area is the brake light switch. if it is brake fluid then B***er its difficult to get to.

with the foot pedal being hard there is no air in the system. and the leak appears to be on the other side. but its worth a check.

i'll have to admit i thought brake fluid at first.
