mid engine/gearbox

I'm looking at a mid engine setup and wonder if its possible to connect a renault clio 2litre 172bhp transverse engine to a renault UN1 tranaxle and if so what clutch system? alternativly could go the complete renualt 21 turbo route but think this engine is a bit dated now.
thanks

I used the 2.5 Duratec V6 which will give you more power. Lightest (I think) V6 around and the MTX75 transaxle is very strong.
I have seen complete engines go for a pittance on eBay.

yes the UN1 and Clio 172 engine (f4R) can be mated together

the clutch would be an arrangment of v6 plate and clio presureplate and flywheel.

I'm not 100% sure wheter an adaptorplate is needed But I've seen the combo in the autocross over here.

Very good engine BTW. and I think a little lighter than a V6 duratec

depending on the weight of the car and sort of use the much lighter & smaller and much cheaper renault Ng3 transmission can also handle up to 200hp and a fair amount of torque.

The MTX75 is a transverse box though, the UN1 is a conventional longitudinal transaxle.

mondeo mainly. It's transverse so not what you were asking for.

Have a look under Audi's. You'll find much more modern stuff lurking....
