Source for engine bolts
Hope to be picking up my modded pinto this morning for re-assembly.
Can anyone recommend a good source for quality engine bolts.
Burton or motor factor is the obvious but I want something between. I can't afford to spend loads on race quality stuff at Burton prices but I
think maybe I need better than OEM stuff.
I'm not expecting massive performace (hopefully 120 BHP and 7K) so would OEM be good enough?
Looking for crank bolts, main bearing, head bolts, crank pully bolts, sump bolts etc. Pretty much everything except big end bolts.
EBAY has plenty of stuff but could end up getting monkey metal and would be better off down PartCo.
I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.

OEM (as in Ford) spec parts should be sufficient for 120bhp/7k rpm.

I agree with this

Classic car parts (or something like that)? On ebay are very good. You can usually find them by searching for pinto engine gasket sets and cylinder
bolts.

You can use std 8.8 grade bolts for holding on all the ancilliary stuff such as water pump, sump, rocker cover and the other odd bits.
Internally you need to use either OEM or equivalent bolts.
The head bolts on all later pintos are stretch type with a torx head, you sometimes get them with a head gasket set, otherwise they are available
seperately.
The crank pulley bolt is an M12x1.25 pitch (IIRC), you cant get them from ford any more, but any bolt in 8.8 or better will be fine.
