V6 gearbox options
I'm picking up a 2.5 Duratec V6 at the weekend, which all going to plan will take up residence in the boot of my mini. However, I am unsure
about the gearbox. Does anyone know if the 6 speed will fit, or am I limited to just the one type (5 speed) of box? These engines are new to me, so
there may well be a few silly posts in the near future. Oh, whilst I'm on the subject, does anyone know if there's a sensibly prices LSD
available?
Cheers in advance.

Hi Sy, dont think that the words, "sensible price" and "LSD", have any connection in the English language. Ray

I know, but you can always hope!
I may have to leave things like for the winter after I get it on the road. Don't even know if I'll need one, just doing some research for
once!

The 6 speeder will fit although it is slightly wider and with different mountings and the cables exit in a slightly different position. It is however
a weaker box, but that's only a problem if you are going over 350 bhp. I recently looked at a 6 speed box on eBay - only £100!
Damn, I meant to take those measurements today - I will tomorrow ....... promise
Cheers,
