The SAGA Continues.........

Evening Chaps.

Well as some of you know i posted the other night with a dilemma of lack of power at high revs when driving the DAX on a short little test run.

All of you replied that my clutch was slipping and im NOT affraid to say YOU WERE ALL RIGHT. MY CLUTCH IS KNACKERED

with a helping hand from my trusty side kick steve (stevec); well im more like his side kick, we managed to get the engine out this evening to take a look at the clutch. the drive plate was fine, but the pressure plate was totally FUBAR'D!!! it looked convex and there were stress cracks in it too i dont know how i didnt see it before?

AND THATS NOT ALL.....

but i'll keep it short. STARTER MOTOR IN F**KED AND WATER PUMP SPRANG A LEAK

right guys now down to the help that i need, do any of you know where i can get a good pinto clutch kit for a good price? im sure i could spend half the night searching the web but it would be a great help if someone new a supplier that could do me a good deal. i also need a new or replacement starter motor that isn't going to give up on me in a few months and does anyone know where i can get my hands on a alloy water pump,

another wine i know but i really need your help on this one fellas

cheers Alex

I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

You should be able to get a clutch cover from burtons for sensible money.
Come to think of it, they should be able to do you a waterpump too.

IIRC, they do some incredibly expensive lightweight starter. So, for your starter requirement, go to the local motor factors.

Either that, or have the bugger rebuilt. Theres a company near me, Burghfield starter motor and alternator centre, that will supply a rebuilt RV8 starter for 70 quid, so a Pinto one ought to be cheap as chips.

I recently bought a replacement for a Xflow, bendix type, and it was 25 quid exchange. Cant say fairer than that!!
