Polo rad mounting brackets

Managed to get the top of the rad secure with some ali brakcets, but the bottom isn't being supported at the moment. The things I've thought of seem very blocky and over-engineered....

Does anyone have any ideas/pics of how they've done it??

Thanks

Chris

Try making a 90deg. bracket out of thinish strip - a 90deg fillet in the angle to support it if required. Punch through the strip from the top with a suitable diameter round punch/chisel whilst supporting it on a large nut to give a smooth edge on the hole's top surface, file off the sharp under edges. Weld to the chassis at the correct height. Slip a small piece of heater hosing onto the rad leg to cushion it - job done.
Cheers, Pewe

The MK supplied brackets I got are simple pieces of ali folded into a Z shape, tapered so the rad stands vertical rather than canting backwards.

Very simple, but very light and sturdy.
