I'm currently getting a nasty vibration at tick-over in my vw polo (6N) which dissapears when i press the accelerator. Do I......:

Probably something is loose. Tightening a bolt or nut should do it. Just go and find it.

HT lead?
Running lumpy like its on 3Cyls and then when you rev it up the spark jumps the gap and it runs smoother

Are you saying it idles at above 1400rpm?
Should be about 900rpm shouldn't it?

Idles at about 900rpm, dissapears completely at 1400rpm and gets better progressively between the two.....

If its the 1.4 75bhp TC, remove the carbon ridge inside the throttle body with carb cleaner, this will probably cure the overrun stall you have been
experiencing
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
