Just give it a good hard yank really its only a push fit onto the release arm

I used a claw hammer - gently.
Have heard it said that the release bearing housing usually breaks as you take it off but no matter if yiou're going to replace it anyway

You could drive the pin out and get the arm off that way but you will have to deform the pin to make sure it stay in when you put it back.

There are two tiny metal spring tabs that open out a little when the bearing holder is pushed on to the arm, usually covered in oil and muck so hard
to see.
Use a screw drive on the back of the arm pushing towards the bearing and you should easily be able to release one side of the bearing carrier, repeat
for the other side and it will just slide off the input shaft.
In the past i have also knocked out the the pivot pin so i could slide the release arm and bearing of complete and take it in to the workshop.
just replace the pin afterwards with a little locktight and reassemble.
