Trigger Wheel

Has anyone tried making their own trigger wheel, using for example the design shown HERE

I'd be interested to hear how successful the outcome was.

Is it worth the extra work to achieve a substantially lighter wheel?

Do the thinner teeth trigger satisfactorily?

Macspeedy snr made a reluctor ring for the rover they had when the abs was kaput. Could not get the same any where. requires an index head for the lathe and a thinking head to make it

The ones on Duratec front pulleys come off with ease. Could you adapt one of those?
