Bike Fuel Pumps

If using Kawazaki ZX9R carbs on a x-flow I have heard the standard pump can be used. Is this true??

What's the best bike fuel pump to use?? Can any one be used as long as it's for a carb bike not tb's?? Are any better than others with built in regulators or anything like that??

Thanks

for no other reason than it works with the carbs you have use a kawasaki one for zx9r, but i would say any "carbed" fuel pump, R1,Blade etc would be ok.

A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

the other option is a fuel regultor, i run standard pinto fuel pump and a fuel regultaor set at 2psi and it runs fine,

regulator from demon tweeks, can be found here link
hope this helps

a solid state pump and regulator have proven troublesome on some BECs, strangling flowrate at pressures low enough so the pressure doesn't overcome the needles, so Id personally steer clear although they do undoubtedly work OK for some.

From what Ive seen most large bike engines with carbs that have a pump use pretty much the same Mitsubishi sourced pump, as mentioned above something from an early blade or an R1 will be fine.

Yep, but its the carbs that are important regardless of what engine they are strapped to. Bike carbs need a bike carb friendly fuel pump configuration

Thanks for the replies.

I have found a motorbike breakers through the good old tinternet not far from me & they have ZX9R pumps there for £20 plus postage if I can't be bothered to go get them

Just a simple case of a switch & a relay then
