She's alive!
Those who I've been talking to recently know that I've not been looking forward to getting the car running for the first time, mainly due
to me not having a clue about wiring the ignition circuit using the original pinto stuff, dizzy, coil etc.
The plan was to get the engine running on dizzy etc so I know the engine runs even though I have built my own megajolt.
Last night I wired the starter motor up and turned the engine over which sort of give me the confidence to just have a go straight off with the
megajolt.
Put a bit of fuel down the chokes and cranked her over, nearly started but didn't. checked my toothed wheel and noticed had put it 8 teeth after
the sensor and not 9 as it's supposed to be.
Moved it round and hey presto she runs, checked the spray bar for oil and seems to be oiling the cam (Mark will be pleased) so overall am well pleased
especially as I've had this engine in small pieces and I've never done it before.
Will do the traditional video Thursday as going to the first North Yorkshire meet tomorrow.
Cheers, off for a beer now
Rich
