Another engine runs!
Brmm, Brmm!
Swung it over this morning, started as soon as the petrol got to the carb. Wonderful! 
Now I've got to get the carb set up correctly... completely rebuilt engine, completely cleaned & rebuilt carb. Nothing's in the right
place!
At the moment it's very reluctant to rev up from tickover, but I think the idle mixture is very rich. Now I'll have to find my
colourtune, which hasn't seen the light of day for about 15 years...
I did have one problem - it started to overheat, but I think that's down to a faulty thermostat - it hadn't opened when the engine got to
100 degrees, which is when I turned it off to avoid damage.
