Another Bike carb query!!!
Just wondering if anyone has had issues with fitting air-boxes, and this affecting the running?
I have 6x Fireblade carbs fitted to a 6cyl 2000 Triumph GT6 and have eventually got the thing running well, but on open bellmouths. I have made a
custom airbox, to collect air via a massive K&N filter behind the from gril, but when this is all plumbed in, i get a hesitant missfire at full
throttle, midway through the rev range?
The carbs have 170 mains, and all std with no air holes blocked, 2.5 turns on the idle. Any suggestions?

Take it to a rolling road for a tune up - somewhere that knows about bike carbs preferably - Bogg Bros?
Cheers

So they run well without and airbox but not with. Your airbox is probably restricting the air somehow.
What size is the gap between the bell mouth and the box, compared with the diameter of the carb throat?
What is the diameter of the airbox entry?
What is the volume of the airbox and the volume of the engine?

A pic may help in this case. Does sound like an air box issue.
take a look at Jackos archive as he has an custom airbox. i seem to recall he fitted 3 filters to feed the box.

Pipercross do a nice airbox that fits were a sausage filter would fit.
I'm going to make an airbox so I can fit a BMC filter and get the air directly from the front of the car.

Doesn't the pipercross airbox also come with a hernia-inducing price tag though (about £200)?
