Turbo Zetec

I've seen a couple zetec's running turbo's and superchargers, but really without major modification to the internals, how much charge can you expect to run with how much gain in HP on a stock 2.0l?

I'm planning on about 10-12psi on stock internals, just a 2mm decompression plate to reduce the c/r to 8.5:1 (2l silvertop zetec).
Am expecting in the region of 200 - 220bhp, which seems reasonable given the experiences of others.

Took it for the first spin last night (only running 5psi and very safe timing for now) and it's properly quick...

I am putting together my parts for a turbo 2.0l blacktop zetec.
I am going to leave it in standard dress, and i intend to run upto 10psi, maybe a touch less. I am going to run knock and boost control, and i hope to see 180hp.

Cheers
Simon

Tom,

I am interested in what you are doing.

I am not going to run a decompression plate, and control the boost via a knock controller.

Simon,

Full story here if you want to read it.

Be prepared for it taking ages and costing more than you planned ;-)

Story needs updating with the last couple of weeks worth of trauma. (MOT, bore wash, knackered big end shell and overheating) It's running now though, and if it ever stops peeing down I'll start to work on the mapping and winding the boost up, fitting a decent rad fan and ducting the rad better.

Felt brilliant when I gave it death down the dual carriageway last night though, so it all seems worthwhile!
