zetec engine stuttering

Hey
I am using a ztec 1800 with standard ecu and components , just a other manifold from griffin power

But the engine is stuttering holding back between 1000 and 4000 rpm
When i try to rev it from 1000 up is wants to drop out. But when i play with the throttle i can rev it but it stutters. once up 4000 rpm it runs fine and does everything good
When it open the trothel fully one it's running stationary, it's seems that te engine must swallow and almost droping out and than revs up and then there is a flame and a bang out of the exhaust.

SO i was thinking of ignition problems
I changed the ignition cabels from an other engine (i don't now of ther are good)
but he stil got it.
WHen got the spark plugs out last week when i change them they where black so that is very rich. But that was when he didn't cama ot of the garage yet.
So i don't have a clue anymore
And thes is the only thing that keeps me of the road after a rebuild from over a year ??

I hope you guy's can help me
thanks
cheers
melvin

plugs & leads would have been the first things I changed. Are you sure the ones you're running are good?

sounds like the throttle pot sesnor on the throttle body....

they can wear at the lower end, causing mis readings etc.. sometimes the ECU will read it as fully closed, or fully open when its only partially open...

try watching the rising voltage to see if it splikes or is not uniform...

or, it coudl be a leak after the throttle body somewhere... spray with wd40 to see if it bubbles anywhere...

I going to change the leads at monday

Could it be the lambda sensor? that doesn't work properly ?
thanks

Lookt this afternoon searching for a leak
I think there was a smal leak on the first injector. I replaced teh sealings last weak.
So i think the manifold isn't perfect fit on that place. I put some sealing on, that wil we fully dry to morrow.
Will see, i hope it wil be that
cheers
