VW Polo Temp Sender
Does anyone know at what temperature the standard mk1 polo radiator temperature sender switches on and off at?

Normally engraved on the side of the switch but VWs do tend to run hotter than a lot of other cars

Don't have one yet. I'm looking for one to operate the fan on the rad for a ZX9 which comes on at 96-100 and goes off at 91.

The only switch i can see in the book that switches off between 93-100c is for opel/vauxhall astra, calibra, corsa, omega etc. IIRC the polo rad has a
thread size of m22x1.5.

IIRC most thermoswitches have a 22mm thread . If you go to your local motor factors they should have a catalogue which should have the operating
temperatures of various switches .

Erm I need it to swith ON between summat like 96-100 not off. Yeah it seems M22 is standard. Where could I look to save time at the motor factors. Its
usually the case that if you can't name the exact vehicle and year it was registered then they just look at you like a fool.

This may help mate Linky the polo one can come on at two temps depending on which
you connect up.

I saw that. Looks like it might be a two-speed fan

Just for reference several switchs are fitted to Polo's.
50200 - 2 terminal on92/87off .
50030 - 2terminal 95/85.
50035 - 3 terminal 95/85 102/92 (uses a 2 stage fan/twin fans).
All M22x1.5
Those are all Intermotor no's. There's plenty of others that would fit as well.

Yep, the vauxhall switch screws straight into the polo rad, that's what I'm using on mine!
