EFI fuel pumps

Ok Ladies and Gents, I've made a new fuel tank and at the mo it's virginal not a mark on it.

Do i add a swirl pot and use an external pump and filter? or weld on a plate to take an in-tank pump unit?

Which in-tanks pumps are suitable? and does anyone have a picture of the mounts for these pumps. Also do the internal pumps have a built in swirl pot/catch tank?

Sorry for all the questions but i don't fancy making another tank

ATB Dan.

I think you will need to make some sort of internal swirl pot if using an in tank pump, i thought about the idea when i did my injection but setteled on an external bosch pump and swirl pot.
The other alternative is a compromise of both methods by putting an extension pot on the bottom of the tank with a pipe feeding an external pump, this may be easisest to do but I decided that it would look untidy as the swirl pot would have stuck out under the rear chassis rails and been visible from behind.

Well thats sorted that then as the tanks fully welded with no chance of adding any internal swirl pot.

Is a safe bet for a swirl pot about 1L capacity?

Mines about a litre , try and make it tall and thin rather than large dia and short.
I used a bit of stainless tube about 80 dia .
