will it work? will i be able to get the prop in?

ive been waiting for my prob for ages ant its bemocing a pain in the arse as i cant do anything else until the engine is in and cant be arsed puting it in, taking it back out and then back in again to get prop in.

would it be possible to undo the top or bottom prop bolts, tip it up and slide the dop in, preferabley withount the diff oil making a break for it? (push in shafts).

car is a mk new chassis.

Thanks

I managed to fit my prop without removing the engine, but that was the older chassis.

I can't be sure, as I haven't seen the new Indy chassis / tunnel, but when I built my old spec Indy, the diff went in first, then the engine, with the prop going in last.

I think, although it's nearly three years since I did it, that I fed it in from the passenger side of the tunnel, forwards past the side of the engine, then back a bit to the diff. Didn't even have to undo the diff bolts. The prop has a UJ in the middle which helped.

Typically the engine goes in first to determine the exact length of the prop, then the engine is moved to the side to fit the prop. This is on the older chassis, cant comment on the new.

ATEOTD - get the engine in an progress... it's not like it's a big jo to lift the engine out again...

just uploading a few pics to my photo archive to show how it all fits, just been looking and i think i may be able to get it in from the engine end.

engine has already been in / out a few times including to measure prop but if i can avoid having to remove it again it would be good as there isnt always someone about to give me a lift with the engine.
