weber dgav probs
just fitted my dgav back on to my pinto and it's not very happy! started up perfect and runs smooth as you could hope, appears to be plenty of
fuel going through it, but on progressive opening of the throttle it reaches around 2500rpm and just dies out. can't see a lot of fuel going
through it when it reaches this point either. there's a real harsh sucking sound to it too which i can't say i remember being there before
i took it off.
if you snap the throttle open so the 2nd choke opens up it makes the most hellish noise! really roars through the carbs and does then go beyond
2500rpm but still isn't doing a great deal.
any ideas? could it be something to do with the accelerator pump?

would suspect a part blocked main jet in the primary side of the carb (1st choke)
the accelerator pump only has a big efect in snap acceleration situations, so progressive opening of the throttle won't rely on the accelerator
pump system that much
try some carb cleaner first adding a bit into the float chamber, or what sometimes works is to rev the engine whilst smothering the top of the carb
using the vaccuum created by the engine to suck the blockage through the jets, if all else fails whip of the top and check/clean the jets and float
chamber etc
