a very very sad day :-(
as part of a tidy out in the garage to have the door and window replaced on monday, I wanted to get the engine in the front of the pickup, easy
enough... i thought
the engine itself would *just* about fit within the bay, but i can't get it in with the gearbox attached. removed the gearbox, still not quite
in, but theres no way i'd be able to get the gearbox back on. its not gonna happen... would have looked good in there too. twin exhausts,
entering out both sides. no
thing is, would i be better to get the engine stripped and rebuilt an sell it as a running engine, or sell it as is (it hasn't run for years,
and i don't know what condition its in)

What kind of engine is it, rare, exotic?
Although I doubt you would get your money back after a rebuild of it, no matter what it is
Plan B?
Cheers

3 litre V6 form a ford aerostar. Fords Vulcan V6.
well, it didn't cost me anything to start with... but must be worth something to someone especially with gearbox included. would have thought it
would be easier to sell as a runner. like you say though, i'd never make back the cost of the a rebuild. I've got a carb to go on it,
needs manifold and megajolt to get it running.
Plan B is a Zetec or red top vauxhall. its what they use on the track... I've already got some mounts for a red top...

nope, its not like the essex at all, its nearer to the cologne but it is a full 3.0. i think they only used it in america
a V6 would have looked sweet in there too

Have you thought about a bolt in subframe that contains the engine, and can be raised into position rather than dropped.
Or removable tubes in the chassis?

i had thought of those options today, but i really can't think of any way this engine will work, me and my dad spent all day looking at it
trying to work out what to do. It won't work. besides, there's more power to be had from a 2 litre zetec than there is from this 3.0
