Phase 3 Zetec Cam pos sensor
What is the cam position sensor for on the ph3 zetec? I'm guessing I dont need it, Bike carbs & megajolt, and plan to blank the hole off. I
want to use the mounting bolt for one of the carb steadies.
Is it ok to dispense with it?
Cheers.
Pete.

Cam pos is there if a system uses Sequential Injection.
The sensor informs the CPU When an inlet valve opens.
that way the fuel delivry is just in time.
and not to early..

As ^^^^ - not needed at all with your new fueling setup so go ahead and remove it.
Carb steadies?? They need to have a tiny bit of movement in order to stop the fuel from frothing up (which is why they are mounted to the manifold via
flexible hose) so you arent planning to solidly connect them to the engine are you??

Thanks, out it comes then.
Carbs will be rubber bushed, but read too many 'carbs fell off' stories not to steady them..
Cheers.
Pete.

Add support in the form of springs from upper parts of carbs to the cam-cover.
