Pinto sump chopping
Hi i have 2 spare pinto sumps in the garage that im going to chop down and sell on.
Im not planning on making extra wings for it to retain the same oil capacity, i know plenty have not done this with no ill effects.
So how much have you chopped it by?
Cheers

shorten a Pinto sump
This how the RHOCaR boys do it.
Others have added volume to the rear, only usefull if you dont have any chassis cross members to miss.

Rather than put a wing on the side i extended the sump forward and plated the lower section with 3mm steel. I also angled this up at the front to act
as a mini skid plate.
The bit chopped off was inverted and welded back in to act as a bit of a baffle and keep oil around the pick up pipe. I recently posted some pics in
an oil breathing post. Also try searching for same mods under Mark Allanson's name - i followed one of his excellent guides.
